New Vendors: Summer Market 2015


While we are always excited about the opening of the summer market, this year there's a lot to be excited about. We are adding a wonderful array of new vendors this season, and there's a little something for everyone. There's 3 new ready-to-eat food vendors, a couple of new bakeries, as well as new farms, chocolatiers, cheesemakerts, and more. See below for a full list of new vendors, as well as information on their products and practices.

A few of these vendors can be found at the remaining Winter Markets (1st and 3rd Saturdays of March and April), but all should be present at our Summer Market, which starts on the 1st Saturday of May.

New Vendors: 2015 BFM Summer Markets

Herb infused vinegars, dressings and marinades.

Gourmet buttery soft caramels, handmade in small batches featuring flavors such as Sea Salt, Original Vanilla Bean, Caramel Latte, and a rotating line of bold and unique flavors such as Smoked Sea Salt and Hot Pepper, Peanut and Sriracha, and Root Beer Float, to name a few. They also have gourmet flavored nut mixes for a healthier snacking option.

An artisan bakery specializing in small-batch handmade organic baked goods prominently featuring ancient and sprouted grains. They craft their breads using old-world techniques with an emphasis on long and complex fermentation cycles. In addition to our lineup of breads, they also make vegan Bavarian-style pretzels and vegan cinnamon rolls.

Coley’s is a socially responsible specialty food company dedicated to making premium gourmet treats for consumers of all ages. Nut Cookies use premium nuts and flax, instead of flour, making every treat nutritious and satisfying. Oregon Hazelnut, Almond and Dark Chocolate flavors are available.

Columbia River Sourdough

We are a family owned local wholesale bakery specializing in TRUE artisan sourdough breads. We do not yeast our sourdough, but age it over three days using a starter culture. This 3 day fermentation process naturally reduces the gluten content of the bread and provides probiotic benefits. The Glycemic Index of our sourdough is the lowest of all common breads. Besides delicious our breads appeal to farmers market shoppers across the board, including those with gluten intolerances, diabetics and of course all true sourdough lovers.

We're a woman-owned, local Portland company that makes delicious, probiotic-rich cultured coconut milk! Basically that means we make vegan yogurt! It's paleo and perfect for anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions, but is just as popular with those who eat anything. Our cultured coconut milk doesn't contain any sugar and is naturally sweet from the coconut milk.

We are a dedicated gluten and soy free bakery out of Sherwood, Oregon. We offer a variety of delicious cookies and brownies!

An Ethiopian food business, committed to bring authentic Ethiopian flavors to farmers markets. We source most of our ingredients from local farmers. We serve freshly made meat or lentil stews with a side of veggies over freshly baked Injera or brown rice. Offers vegan and gluten free options.

Ezra's Organics specializes in Certified Organic Grafted Heirloom and Hybrid Tomato Plants. We were one of the first companies to offer grafted tomato plants to the public back in 2009 and are the only UDSA certified ORGANIC grower in the northwest. Our grafting expertise combined with the extreme care we give each plant is unmatched in the industry. We are a family run company out of Canby Oregon.

We specialize in wild foraged produce - mushrooms, micro-greens, and more!

Fuller Foods is a Portland based craft maker of gourmet cheesy puffs, made with wholesome local ingredients in sriracha, blue cheese jalapeno, and maple bacon flavors. Vegan and cheese-free corn puff coming Spring 2015. Handmade in small batches in Portland (Sellwood), these cheesy puffs contain absolutely no color additives, maltodextrin, flavoring yeasts, fillers, cheap substitutes, and “natural flavors” (loosely regulated bucket term for chemicals not really made from food).

Lucia Velasquez (Grandma Chonga) began making our authentic salsa over 70 years ago. This generational salsa starts with fire roasted garlic, Unger Farms jalapenos, habaneras & dried red chili de arbols. Grandma Chonga's Salsas are gluten free & made with Non-GMO ingredients that are sourced locally from small Oregon & Washington farms, when in season.

Misty Meadows Winery creates unique non-traditional fruit wines. These wines are table wines that are designed to pair well with just about any dinner.

Money Bowl

Southwest China Rice Noodle Bowl - A delicious variety of hot Rice Noodle Bowls with traditional special noodle sauce, specialty meats, peanuts and locally grown veggies; Sichuan Hot Pot Veggie Bowl with hot pot egg and seasonal veggies; Sticky Rice Balls prepared to go with a variety of surprise fillings.

At NOLA Doughnuts, doughnuts are our passion. We handcraft our La'ssants daily, which are the perfect blend of a croissant and the classic doughnut. This three day process results in rich buttery layers and a crisp texture.

Distillery and tasting room located in Astoria, OR. Bar Pilot Vodka, Painted Lady Gin, Uncle Scary's Moonshine, and a selection of flavored vodkas.

Old School Peanut Roasters

Fresh roasted Peanuts! Larry roast peanuts in a restored 1910 Victor Peanut Roaster Cart. They are fresh roasted and served hot. He also wears a 1910 period costume, red & white striped vest, bow tie, arm garter bands, and a skimmer-straw hat.

Our dark chocolate and spice blends create fun and innocent ways to explore and engage in your own Happiness, Freedom, and Courage. At Oma, food is art and chocolate is the medium. All Oma blends start with 61% dark chocolate base. Our cacao is fair trade and rain forest protected.

Portland Pet Food Company was established in June 2014 in Portland, Oregon. We are a small batch premium human grade pet food and treat manufacture. We provide a local, sustainable and natural alternative to commercial dog food.

Starvation Alley is a farm and cranberry juice company located on the Long Beach Peninsula in Southwest Washington. Of the 1700 acres of cranberries in production here, we are the first to succeed at achieving the challenging USDA Organic Certification.

We are a diverse nine acre family farm harvesting almost year round, growing over 100 varieties of vegetables, some fruit, pastured chicken, eggs and seasonal heritage breed turkeys. We limit our CSA to serve eighty members, sell our produce directly at farmers markets, local restaurants, and at select wholesale retailers in Yamhill, Clackamas and Multnomah counties. We grow interesting and delicious food with good intention, integrity, and attention to detail.

The Earth That Gives

We are a Certified Naturally Grown Produce farm located in the Park Place neighborhood in Oregon City. We are new to the area and this is our first year of operation. What we are striving to do is become part of our community by supplying it with fresh produce grown right in the center of the community. The great thing about our produce is you know that it comes from your town and didn't take a nice long truck ride to get to you. Our produce goes from our dirt to your hands in less than 24 hours. Produce is not all we supply. We make jams, pickled and canned vegetables, salsa, and bread out of various things grown on our farm like pumpkins, squash, and cucumbers. We are a small farm with much room to grow in many ways, but most of all we wish to grow into our community.

Tart, tangy, sweet refreshing mixers made with fruits, herbs, vinegar and pure cane sugar. A great alternative to soda, pairs well with spirits, also used in dressings, sauces and marinades.

For about 20 years now, we have focused on "heirloom and unusual" tomato plants. The last few years we have offered nearly 300 tomato varieties. For 2014 we have added nearly 100 varieties of peppers. We also offer growing aids like square, folding cages and soil amendments.

Wood Family Farm

We produce chemical free and conventional hard red heritage wheat varieties and some newer varieties of hard red, hard white, and soft wheat for milling into flour.
