Book Signing: Karen Locke with "High Proof PDX"


Meet the author of "High-Proof PDX: A Spirited Guide to Portland's Craft Distilling Scene” at the Market on November 4th! In Karen Locke’s “High-Proof PDX”, you’ll learn the ropes of distillery room tasting like a pro. Plus, the book doubles as a guide to creating a home bar with local spirits and ingredients. Locke will be on site from 10AM-12PM, signing and selling books and chatting about Portland's craft distilling scene. (You can find her by the Eastside Distilling tent!) Karen has also included one of her favorite cocktail recipes, which we've included here! (We can't wait to try to make it at home!)

Pyrus Bird Cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz. McMenamins Frank High Proof Rum

1 oz. Cappelletti Aperitivo Americano Rosso

0.5 oz. BG Reynolds Rich Demerara Tropical Syrup

0.5 fresh lime juice

3 oz. pear juice

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. Strain over ice into a coupe glass. Enjoy!
